The Specogna Family

3 generations of winemakers share the same passion!

Everything started with Leonardo Specogna and his wife Alma in 1963 when, after residing in Switzerland as emigrants for some years, they returned to Friuli Venezia Giulia and bought a small plot of land on the hills of Rocca Bernarda in Corno di Rosazzo. That day, enduring many struggles and difficulties, the adventure in the world of wine begun. It continued with Graziano and his wife Anna Maria, who started improving the management techniques of the vineyards and of the winemaking, gradually expanding the vineyard surface. The third generation of Specogna winemakers Cristian and Michele has now entered the company.

  • Michele (35) graduated as an agriculturist specialised in viticulture and oenology at the Istituto Tecnico in Cividale del Friuli. He leads the company Toblar (www.toblar.it ) located in Ramandolo and works as a winery technician in the Winery Specogna Leonardo in Corno di Rosazzo. He has held many training courses in oenological companies in various regions (Piedmont, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia). He takes part in oenological exhibitions throughout Europe representing both companies. He is part of the board of the Wine Exhibition of Corno di Rosazzo. He is married with Alessandra and has two children.
  • Cristian (29) graduated as an agriculturist specialised in viticulture and oenology at the Istituto Tecnico in Cividale del Friuli, and he specialised in 'Wine Business Management’ at the MIB School in Trieste. Moreover, he carried out many training activities in the oenology field both in Italy (Piedmont, Tuscany) and abroad (Burgundy, the Loire, Champagne, Wachau). He manages the agronomic works in the vineyards and the commercialisation steps of the wines of both wineries Specogna and Toblar. For several years he has held the position of Vice President of the Wine Fair and of the Winemakers Group of Corno di Rosazzo. He is part of the Board of Directors of Ducato dei Vini Friulani and he is active in various associations. In 2010 he won the “Oscar Green” of Coldiretti in the category ‘Exporting the Territory’. In 2012 he reached the finals in the 'Next in Wine' award, a prestigious event organised by the company “Preparatori d'Uva” led by Marco Simonit and Pierpaolo Sirch.
